Mossberg SSI-One

I found a nice example in 308 at Glauber's in Carrollton KY.  Used price was either $500 or $600.  Scoped.  I know these are hard to find now, so I thought someone here might want to know.

I don't think they will skyrocket like the TCR did, but I'm sure they will increase in price somewhat. Don't know why Mossberg discontinued them. The few I have been able to put my mitts one seemed pretty decent.I just think they did not put a whole lot of advertising effort into them.

I have 2 an 06 and a 223 both have great wood and shoot well and they also have auto eject which I like. as to price 500 an up is way out  of line on one as they only sold for 450 new and they come through the gun shows new or like new for 350.00. I think that if Mossberg had given it a nice blue job and promoter it a little more you would still see them in gun shops. Another good thing on the 223 is that they are 1 in 9 twist and will handle the heavier bullets.Yes I know that things do increase in value but to increase in value you also have to have a big demand.

Most of the used prices at this store were higher than I would pay.

The highest priced one I have ever saw at a gun show was 500.00 and it had a must have been 1 1/2 inch bull barrel chrome plated in 22 lr target. The vender had it at at least 6 shows before I never saw it again ,I think he just got tired of taking it from show to show :)

I certainly hope the $500-600 SSi had a Leopold, Nikon or etc. scope on it. 

Been about 4 years ago now, but paid around $240 for a new 308 SSi Mossberg I found on clearance at a Houston Gander Mtn store that had about 5 of them (all 308) to pick from.   Nice rifle that I occassionally take to range to shoot.  Only complaint I have about the rifle is the trigger pull....which is too heavy to suit me.  I get decent groups with the rifle at 100 yard targets, but a lighter trigger pull would really help its accuracy when shooting from a bench.    One of these days, I'll figure out how to disassemble the action to work on the trigger to reduce the pull and smooth it out.  From posts I can remember reading years ago, this can be done, but no one ever explained how they did it.
