.475 bullet sizer die
« on: June 28, 2010, 12:15:49 AM »
I'm hoping someone here will know...

Most guys I've had contact with seem to recommend sizing cast bullet for the FA to .475. I've miked and measured and checked several different diameter bullets in my cylinder and I agree.

The thing is that I need to import a sizer die for my RCBS Lube sizer and RCBS seems to list only a .476 on their website (catalog). I've seen Midway lists .474 and .476, but no .475 and they won't export anyway.

Does anyone know where to get a .475 RCBS bullet sizer die?! Thanks for any suggestions.

Try the Cast Boolits forums if you can't find the die you want.  I have had custom dies made in the past...there are a few Machinists who sell them on the site. Been a few years....can't recall the names....Sorry.

Visited RSA in 98 and again in 2000. Wonderful Country...friendly people. Hope to visit again while I can still get around and enjoy myself.

Thanks FN.

You need to let me know if you get here. SA is one of the few African destinations where handgun huting is still permitted. We've fought quite hard recently to make sure that it stays that way and it seems likely that we will get somewhat restrictive legislation. That said, the legislation means the activity is protected and it seems that we may actually get some more opportunities than before. For example caliber restrictions, but the ability to hunt with a semi auto pistol. We'll see!

Thanks for that. Possibly Stillwell Tool and Die that you were thinking of?

Groo here
Lee will make a sizer that fits your loading press in most any size..
You will need a different way to lube though [soft finger lube or tumble]

Maybe a little late, but if you still want a custom RCBS die, look up a user called Buckshot over at the castboolits forum.
And for all your Star die needs, Lathesmith is the man.

good advice. He makes dies every bit as good as magmas for less money.
