50 cal. squirrel gun????

hey guys im thinking about using a 22in.  1:32 twist 209x50 yukon
 with 1  50 gr.777 pellet and a  370 maxi for squirrel this year
i have some pellets that i dont use anymore went to loose 777 ffg
not sure how this will work
just kicking it around but thought it might make for some fun tree rat hunting
i got about 3 boxes of pellets and some 370's on the shelf
if the trade goes through ill have a new yukon on the way
thinking of making it a small game gun
any of you guys shoot 1  777 pellet or a light load of loose 777 ffg and a 370 maxi for target or tree rat hunting

I hope you hunt a really long way from anybody's house or livestock. Those bullets will travel quite a ways when shot at a high angle. Remember the rules of safe gun handling, "Always be sure of your target and what is behind it before firing"

yes i understand safe hunting i hunt with a 22 mag most of the time just got a 39a 22lr to hunt squirrel with last year
im a safe hunter i think but instead of the 22mag or 22 lr i think this might make the hunt more interesting
ive shot a bunch of squirrel with rim fire and shot gun through the years
this would make the hunt alot of fun i have been black powder hunting
for just a few years now and i realy like the whole
load shoot swab load again alot better than just chucking a shell in and pulling the trigger
ought to be fun big ol cloud of smoke did i get him 
i hunt 139 acres of private farm land

I think one pellet might be a bit too high power still.  I have shot some light loads in the 30 gr. range that would probably be closer to the power needed for squirrel.  I hunted squirrel for many years with a .410 also, so you might consider using a solid shot cup with a bit of shot and a wonder wad placed on top to keep your shot in place.  It'd be pretty easy to load too that way if you use a shot dispenser with a sized nozzle.  Another possible work around would be to use wooden plugs.  If you buy the shortest 1/2" ribbed dowel rods, and a patch, you might get decent accuracy out to 25 yards or so.  Would eliminate ricochet and high angle issues too.
