Looks a little like a rough Turkish, but dunno for sure.  Perhaps if you show the rest of the gun and any other marks and someone could help figure it out easier.  8)

Yea,do you know what the gun is that its on,or is that what your trying to find out? It would narrow down the field to search if we knew what kind of gun it was on or at least if you show us a picture someone Im sure will recognize what it is.

S.S.:  Is the rifle a 98 Mauser that wears those marks??  If so it may be Turkish.  I know the Egyptians used some Mausers but I believe they were post-war versions of the M48/48A.    ????

It is not on a firearm. It is on a Philippine bolo type short sword
Like the Moro used in the Philippine insurrection of 1899.
Trying to find out if it is original. By the looks of it and the sheath,
it is very old.

I'm just guessing but it could be the mark of the smith who made your sword/knife.

even as old as it is, still like a 2 foot razor blade.
A formidable weapon even by modern standards!
