USH 12 Ga Receiver question

Is the receiver for the 12 GA USH cast like an SB1?

No, it's investment cast alloy steel like the SB2 rifle frame.

Thanks for that Tim.

I am thinking of building a "African Hunter" style gun starting with a 12ga USH. I would like to take a little off the stock. LOP to 13.5 if it would still be long eye relief scope friendly. Also have the bbl chopped to 20 inches for a more rearward balance point.

Then......would like to shoot exclusively Dixie Slugs out of it. Specifically the Terminator(.730",730gr,at 1250fps) Wondering if this would be a project worth undertaking. I want to come out with "English  Double" power out of a single shot project that cost <$400.

A friend of mine has a 12 ga USH and I have offered to buy him a couple of boxes of Dixie Slugs and let him try them.  Figured it would be a good chance to make a "U" tube video. ;D  For some reason he declined, I don't think he trusts me. ::)  Maybe he is still mad about the 3" Buckhammers I talked him into shooting out of his Beretta autoloader.  ;)
