Excellent quality. Very good people to do business with. Not cheap but good.

I thought so too. But tried for 2 months to order a barrel and it never did happen. Now with Mike B on their forum I have decided to go a different way. There are other places as good or better.

I only have one of their barrels it is a 14" Contender carbine barrel in 45 Colt (yes legal length in Canada) and find it to be of excellent quality.

I have made many orders with them over the years but mostly for their scope bases (that I feel are the best available) without an issue and I'm in Canada.

MGM barrels are as good as you will find and have been responsible for lots of game on the ground for me.

And why, Idaho_Elk_Hunter, would you base your decision on someone being or not being on a forum? That has nothing to do with the building or the quality of an MGM product. Such a decision is akin to -- and about as reasonable as -- not shopping at Wal-Mart because they built across the street from McDonald's.

The buttstock is from www.highplainsgunstocks.com and the forend from a very talented fellow who posts here on the board as either Dave D. or David D.

I also have the High Plains matching forend and am very pleased with it, but I decided I wanted a special fit and have always liked the word of Dave D.

HP also offers thumbhole stock sets, and they are very nice, too.

I received my MGM 6.5X55 24" back in July, man what a shooter. I couldn't be happier with it.

I got lucky and traded for one in 7x57 the finish is great and their base is very nice. I have talked to them at the gun shows and they seem willing to make any barrel you wont and price is not bad either. They even offered to make me a TCR barrel but that would have driven price up too much as I would have had to have a doner barrel for the mono block. The only problem with any custom barrel maker is the 8-10 week wait but aftre all it is custom.
