Really PO'd at the USPS...Long Gun can't be found.
« on: September 03, 2010, 09:20:04 AM »
I put my 22 Contender carbine in the classifieds here last Saturday and one of the members promptly bought it. He sent me the payment via Paypal and the FFL info I needed to ship it. I had to be in south Alabama working that following Monday so I mailed it thru the Dothan, Al post office. Delivery was supposed to be 9/1. As of today he doesn't have it and the PO doesn't have a clue where it is. Only thing on tracking is where I checked it in. I have it insured but this really chaps my butt. Anyone else ever had this problem ?

I wouldn't be surprised to see it show in the next few days. You never really know how long it might take.
I've had stuff that should of arrived in less than 5 days take almost three weeks using Priority Mail which I beleve is 3 to 7 day.

Stay on 'em until they can account for it. They should already know you're name and recognize you on sight. Speak to the postmaster and get the postal inspectors name and contact info.

I've been on the phone with the postmaster this morning. They'll find it or settle with me just to get me to go away. If it doesn't turn up and the USPS insurance has to pay me for it I'll file it as stolen. If it ends up in the hands of someone with a FFL somewhere down the line it'll show up.

I just received a package from Texas that took 2 weeks to get to New York State. Maybe the Post Office boys want to shoot a couple through it before they pass it along.
Keep after them.
