Depends on the load.  The older "Redeye" primed shells were good for a dozen or so, until the crimp starts splitting.  The newer AA are not as good.

I agree with Flint.  The crimp is the part that fails and that typically happens in 6 to 8 loads for the newer shells.  The Remington compression formed hull is also pretty good and generally lasts as long as the AA.

Thanks,
I'm getting about 6-7 before the crimp lines crack or split.

I used to shoot a 65gr load of bp and I could reload my hulls 3 or 4 times. Then I upped my powder and cut back on my shot and now I only get one or maybe two reloads before I get that wrinkled frosty and stiff hull from too much heat. The load definately matters as far as how many times a win or rem hull can be reloaded.
I am the one with his head in the trash barrels at a shoot. Yup the one with the red boots is all you can see sticking up. I am a CAS dumpster diver. I am always on the look out for a few good hulls.

Howdy, I have  several plastic hinge-top containers of fired and once fired AA hulls.  Next time you are in Simi, look me up, you can have a thousand or so....

Until the third time ya hafta use candle wax to hold the crimp closed. Then it's time to toss it. Really it depends a lot on the load used. Some powders tend to burn hotter than others and wear out shells faster. Unique is about the worst of the lot in this regard. I have some old Remington All American hulls that are likely 30+ years old I've been loading off and on all of that time. Some of them are really getting close to my criteria above for tossing them but I'll bet some have been loaded 30-40 times. If ya keep the load to one that doesn't require a lot of wad pressure to fit it in the hull they stay closed just fine a long time. High wad pressures make it tough on the case to hold it all in and require better hulls.

Skeet shooters use them just as I mentioned above. We toss them at shoots where ya can't pick them up off the ground if we use an autoloader.

Sorry I didn't log in as the Marshal guys but it is darn near bed time and I've still got a lot of ground to cover as Graybeard before then and if I don't do this now while I'm logged in I'll forget to come back and log in and post it later.

Flint, next trip down will be for Christmas. I will probably only make a short stay though. Maybe enough time to cruise by Gretas and see what is on display and not much else. I still plan on shooting with you folks this winter at probably Piru. If you just give the hulls to me, folks will think I am a imposter if they don't see me scrounging for once fireds    I actually have a pretty good stash myself, so thank you so much for the offer pard. I have laid of shooting for a little bit. I haven't shot since about 5 or 6 weeks ago and don't plan to again until the first of the year and then I will hit 'er hard again. I am anxious to get my hands on the Snakebite mold I have ordered and I would like to get some ammo loaded and maybe give my C&Bs a rest and put some mileage on my RVs for a while too. I am starting to get the bug to shorten up a pair of 51 navies and do the hammer mod. I am thinking of sending them down to Rowdy Yates, since he has done them before and does great work on C&Bs.
