No clue Doug; seems like a nice place. Prices aren't too bad either.
Young guys should hang out with old guys; old guys know stuff

Doc, I've not heard of them. An internet search resulted in plenty of hits, but most were just short articles that repeated the info from the ranch web site.   Not sure how large the place is, but they sure have a wide variety of critters.

Doc, Good point.  At the TTHA show in Houston this past August I talked to a few hunting ranch reps.  They never would mention the size of their ranch, but f pressed they would usually give the size with the disclaimer about how wild the animals were and thick the cover was.  I talked to one bow hunting place and just wasn't buying what he was selling, but it was nice to ask, always looking for a good deal on a red deer.  Right behind me a guy walked up and asked about cross bows and the rep stated that they were not allowed and wasn't very courteous about it.  Hmm.  I guess with the growth of X-bow hunters they are not looking to make any money off of that.

Strange....xbow hunters will become a bigger segment of hunting I think.  I'm still kinda interested in the Mayfield Ranch or my best bet would be to go with my friend Ken Wilson of Sportsmen-on-Film hunting.  He has quite a few ranches that are >2000 acres that he has permission to hunt.

Hey Doc-I took a look at the site and prices and was a bit surprised with the Corsican Ram price in comparison to Wild Hill. I just got my Corsican mount back from North East Taxidermy (picture attached) and I might be boasting but I don't think you can get much better. I believe your heading to Wild Hill tomorrow, GOOD Luck!

Doug,

I am not familiar with it, but I will bookmark it since it is about 115 miles from me. I will be interested if you learn anything about them.

Liquor makes ya talk.... I met a rep for a local exotic ranch one time and despite him needing a cab to avoid a PI, at a minimum,  he told me his place was nothing but a petting zoo. I will always do my research first.
