Shot some arrows!
« on: September 07, 2010, 07:52:06 AM »
You guys finally talked me into it!   :D

I put out a straw bail in my back lawn and strung up my old Bear Kodiak Magnum recurve.  I supprised myself by actually hitting the bail as I haven't shot that bow in well over 20 years!   :o

Of course I was only shooting at 15 yards,  :-[  but I was pretty happy.   I shot it about 20 times.  At first I was hitting 6 or 8 inches higher then my aiming point, but by the time I stopped I was actually hitting in the area of the point of aim!   ;D  That is if I were to aim... which I don't... not with a recurve anyway... Now, where's that stick bow stave ol' JonD sent me... gotta find some cheep arrows also! ... them things sure got 'spensive! ... maybe I ought to get a bow license this year... naw!  way to hot still to be huntin... 'course the season does open in a few days and it's down in the 70's for a while in the mornin... hummmmm...  :-\

Hey AtLaw! Way to go Brother! I have been self training for returning to my right hand shooting, it has not been easy, but I love traditional archery! I'm using some good advice from Cottonwood, "aim small - hit small" and it has been a great help! Thanks Cottonwood! Maybe this can help you also, just a little tiny spot in the target. Good Luck to you AtLaw! scout4<><

Excellent!  These old bows are a lot of fun.
