Summit Viper Classic (steel) Vs. Summit Viper (aluminum)
« on: August 04, 2010, 02:17:45 PM »
Hello, I'm probably about to buy my first climbing stand. I can get a brand new Viper Classic (steel) for $160 or a brand new Viper (the aluminum one) for $230.  I would much rather pay $160 for one. But I'm gonna ask you guys, does the classic climb just as good as the aluminum ones? Are the classics as safe? Is the only difference the weight? I don't think the extra 7 pounds will bother me much. So I'm just wondering if the classic and the aluminum vipers are identical except the weight? Is there anything else different about them? Thanks!
