12ga Tracker II barrel/forearm question
« on: September 13, 2010, 10:22:18 AM »
I just got my new to me 12ga Tracker II barrel “fitted” to my receiver… it locked up prefect just like the original barrel with out any work.

I was wondering if the barrel/forearm is as sensitive to pressure as the H&R rifles are? I know the best way to find out is shoot it, but I have limited range time before deer season and I am wondering if this is an issue or not.

It's hard to say without shooting it. The shotguns do seem to be less finicky about forearm pressure than the rifles do though.
I don't think you'll have any issues with it though... except recoil. :o The light 12's tend to kill at both ends. :D

invest in a $30.00 limbsaver slip-on, you might even want to use a peice of foam pipe insulation on top of your stock if your planning on shooting them juiced up loads.

Thank you,

I will be getting some type of extra recoil pad and adding weight to the stock before I head out to the range.

You beat me to that. I always recommend that. It makes mine shootable. Without the recoil pad it was unusable.
