Hey Guys, I am chomping at the bit over this gun. Does anyone know exactly what configuration it's going to be available in? I found it advertised without a pic for around $625. Is the octagon barreled, straight grip the only style? Anyone with more information to share???

I can think of no possible reason for them to offer such a gun except for the CAS crowd who are serious about winning. IT has such light recoil it makes them a wee bit faster. At that price I'd say if you take a look at the new one Marlin offers in .38 Special that is factory tuned you'll be looking at its twin.

I have an 1894 in 357/38 Graybeard and I was actually doing that today. I think I'd rather have the pistol grip than the straight grip and a round 16.5" tube. I'm not a CA shooter but simply love the caliber. I'd much rather use that for small game then a 22 rimfire. A 32/20 would get me to open my checkbook even quicker.

If your rifle chambers the .357 Mag it is NOT the rifle to which I was referring. Marlin has introduced a .38 Special ONLY version just for CAS shooters. It is not made the same as the one you have. I forget the details of stock and barrel but it seems it is a shorter one barrel wise. It also has been given a factory action job. I think you'll find this new .32 to be the same platform as it.

OK I decided to just pay the Marlin site a visit. Here is an image of the rifle I am referring to. It is called the 1894CBC (38 Spl.) It has a 20" tapered octagon barrel and straight grip stock with squared lever. I found nothing on their site about a new .32 but if it happens I think it will be like this one.

Thanks. I was told that it wasn't official yet but that the 32 mag. was on it's way.

Yep, It does appear that Marlin will be making the 94 in 32 H&R mag, and I can't wait. It will not have a loading gate but will load through the tube ala Henry style. There are some pictures over at the Marlin cowboy forum! This will be one slick little gun to go with my two Rugers. There is also a picture in the new Guns and Ammo.
