:D Let's hear your opinions on the 41 mag. in a 10" Contender barrel. Would it make a good deer gun? Just so you know i HATE the recoil of the 44mag. How does the 41 compare in recoil. I have a 7-30 Waters  14" barrel to hunt with but i would like something different. Let's hear what you have to say about this.

Get a  357 Maximum.  41 is ok, but 357 max gives you a significant range increase and little recoil.  You could also trade for the 7TCU barrel the guy is currently listing in the classifieds.

I've never shot a 41 Mag in a TC.  I did try out a revolver once in 41 and I couldn't tell the difference betwen it and a 44 Mag.  If a 44 Mag is too much why not just download it to "hot" 44 Special velocity for hunting or just shoot 44 Specials for target practice?

Well I have a 357Max, 41 and 44 in 10" barrels.  The recoil is less for the 41 than the 44, however I have never found the 44 objectionable like most do.  I have shot a lot of deer with the 357 and they generally go about 100 yards but always end up dead.  I have shot two deer with a 41 and one fell in its tracks and the other took about 2 steps.  I used to hunt with the 357 all the time but now usually use the 41 or 375 Win.  I have 500 brand new 357Max brass and have been thinking about selling the barrel and brass since I just do not seem to use it much anymore.

The 41 is a great hunting round with lighter recoil than the 44 yet can be loaded to almost equal ballistics as the 44.  It's also a bit flatter shooting than the 44.  Have a 10" and a 14".  The 14" allows this round to do more than we have a right to expect.  It's also a top of the line revolver round.
