Bear Hunting North Georgia

Any hardy souls headed to the mountains wity your bow this weekend?

I have a group of friends that I get together with.

This is our 7th year!

Got my first one last year!

Sure would like to...  :-\  They gettin to be a bunch a them critters around.  Up here in Cobb County they wander into neighborhoods every once in a while and a while back 3 got hit by cars; 2 on I75 and one on Barret Parkway a couple of miles from my house.   :o

When they start getting hit by cars, they need to increase hunting.  New Jersey has bears killing dogs and cats in suburbs, but no bear hunting.  I've heard NJ also has over 7,000 car-deer accidents a year, but only one week of shotgun deer hunting and only a few weeks of bow hunting.  Higher deer-car accident rate than other states with longer hunting seasons.

We had a sow and cub show up in downtown Hogansville, Ga. recently, and two years ago, a small bear was dead on the side of I-185 near Columbus.  I spotted one several years ago on public land that was wearing a collar, so these are not "happen up" bears....
