Last week during our weekly Wildlife Wednesday Lunch, Joe Miller showed up. He came in and sat to discuss State Issues with us. We told him about how we felt US Fish and Wildlife, Nat Park Service, EPA, BATF, and other government agencies were out of control. Joe agreed with us. I told him that USFW Service was a detriment to the states running their own game management. That issue is big amoungst most western states. Someone else pointed out that US Park Service is constantly trying to expand their holdings and yet they don't have the money to upkeep the lands they currently have. Joe Miller agreeded with us and we discussed how the only way to attack these agencies is through funding. Force them to downsize by refusing to give them the money they need to run their operation, and fund their bloated employee base.
I brought up how Alaska has all the minerals, oil, and gas, needed to keep the US self sufficient for decades. The only problem is we have no way of getting the minerals and other products to market. The Federal Government had promised to connect use by rail to the lower 48 over 50 years ago, and still no railroad. Joe agreed.
This was before Lisa Murkowski had announced her bid for a write-in campaign. Joe said he hoped Lisa stuck to her word and honored the voters will. We now know Lisa did not do that.
Joe said instead of getting Federal Money, all Alaska needs is for the Federal Government get out of our way and stop preventing us from mining, and drilling. Let us harvest our commodities and get them to market. Joe pointed out our millions of acres of Black Spruce that could be easily harvested.
This is the second time Joe Miller has came to lunch with us and he really seems to have his ear to the ground and understands what is going on not only here in Alaska, but in the rest of the states.
As for Lisa Murkowski, she is no better than her father. Lisa is arrogant and feels her seat belongs to the Murkowski family. We need to end the Murkowski reign of the last 30 years.
