Don't get the Flu Shot!

This topic has been brought up before, but I had another reminder this week as my wifes aunt collapsed on monday and is in the hospital with partial paralysis and in severe pain. They have ruled out a stroke and think it is Guillian-Barre syndrome, one of the questions she was asked was if she had a flu shot this year, she had one about two weeks ago!
In england doctors admit they are related, but here the FDA and big pharma are in bed together so they keep hiding the dangers of unnecessary vaccines.

I agree. I had the flu shot and got the damn flu two days later.

We got ours in early October and have had no problems. This is the combo shot. I've taken the flue shot since 2003 after heart surgery. I did NOT take the special obama   shot last year. I'm sorry to hear about your aunt. POWDERMAN.

Correlation does not equal causation. 

That said, the flu shot is basically a catalyst for YOUR BODY to develop it's own resistances to the disease.  The shot itself doesn't protect you.  With that in mind, understand that it takes several days to a week for the shot to become fully effective.  If you had already been exposed to the flu virus prior to or shortly after the shot, then you would still get sick as it hasn't had time to take effect yet.

I myself have taken a flu shot for at least 5 years now.  Never had one single issue with them.  Never gotten the flu either.

I've been taking the flu shot every year for decades and it has never made me sick and since I've been taking the shots, I've had fewer colds and other problems.  I think that it is possible that in the process of ramping up the immune system to fight off the flu, it might help ward off some other viruses.  Anyway, it works for me.

Our sickness has gone way down since we both started taking the annual flu shot, last year neither one of us got sick at all. This year I took the pneumonia shot for the first time. We got the regular shot at Krogers. Last year they wanted $45 for the pneumonia shot, this year it was $70, which I did not have. We stopped by our county health dept and got the shot, $10, yep, ten bucks. Kroger was trying to pay for their new remodel I reckon. My family dr says since the heart surgery my immune system is not good at all and recommends the flu shot every year. Last year he recommended that we NOT get obamas shot, which we didn't. All new flu shots have the H1N1 in it now... I have not gotten a flu shot in the last 3 years, and won't ever again!

In 1968 I wished that there was a shot to prevent the Hong Kong flu.  My wife and two year old son were down with the flu.  I was using vacation time to take care of them.  It looked like they were going to beat it by Christmas 68 and I came down with it, they continued to suffer.  Oh, for a flu shot in 1968.

I have had the flu a few more times, so when the flu shot came available I was in line, without side effects.

I am concerned about vaccine safety.  I hate getting shots.

A couple years ago my wife told me about the Shingles Vaccine, and the insurance would pay for it.  I did nothing with the information.  I have been suffering from Shingles for two months, and missed buck season, and a major portion of bear season.  Sure wish I got that vaccine, I might have missed getting it or at worse a light case.

I missed the flu shot clinics this year because the doctor advised that I need to be off one of the medications for Shingles for a least two weeks. 

After the two week period I got a flu shot, and a pneumonia shot.  I never got the pneumonia shot before but my immune system is down because the shingles.

Here we go again. I've been getting the flu shot every year for so long I've forgotten when I started getting them. Wife gets them too. We don't have the flu. Last year we got both, H1N1 and the regular shot at the same time. This year we got the combo. We have no ill side effects either. I did have a doozy of a cold last year. Little 1 1/2 year old great grand daughter brought it home from day care and the whole extended family had it. It didn't bother the little kid much but I felt like I'd been run over by a truck, two or three times. Wish they would come up with a cold vaccine. I'd take it too.

  Not sure what a flu shot has to do with not getting sick.  I haven't been sick in 45 years and haven't had a cold in 30. All of this without a shot of any kind. I have had 4 surgeries in the last 17 years but that was because of a car accident. Not from being sick.

a older guy where i live got a flu shot and died from this. it was sad watching him go from a big man to nothing in about 2 years. never got a flu shot since.
