WASHINGTON STATE NEW GUN PART TAX - SHOCKER
« on: September 19, 2010, 06:27:32 AM »
NEW TAX! Beware Washington State Residents. Now when you buy an Encore frame or anything that is shipped to an FFL dealer, YOU WILL PAY TAX ON IT !! Yes, it seems our esteemed Governor passed a new law as of July 1st so that our FFL dealers are now Tax collectors. Please add the tax to your purchase and see if it is still a good deal. In my case I bought a used blue Encore frame from this site. I paid 245 plus $5. for insurance. When it arrived, my FFL dealer had raised his prices for receiving and to my further surprise, I had to pay about $22. for sales tax! My dealer was not happy and I was less than happy. Be advised, If you have anything sent to a gun shop in Washington state, you will pay sales tax on it. Now how does that make you feel?
Do you plan to hunt in California? As of Jan 1, you will no longer be allowed to bring your ammo. Yes, their Governor decided he was missing out on some way to further tax people so it was decided that ALL AMMO MUST BE PURCHASED IN STATE SO IT CAN BE TAXED. What about all the Barnes hand loads we made for the Condor free zones - you know, the ones that don't even have any condors  :'(
I have got to post this quickly, before a blog tax is passed.
