Fired for Anti-Obama Song

When You're Holding a Hammer
      Purportedly, this young man was fired because of this song.  Guess free speech only goes so far.
   This could be the next number one hit country song.
    It was written by a High School assistant football coach, and it criticizes
the government.  It's the best effort yet at encapsulating the outrage at the oversteps of this government in an entertaining song that doesn't suck.
   Apparently the man was fired over the song because some parents complained

I don't care for the tune (I'm not a big country music fan though), but there's certainly nothing wrong with him making the song, and the lyrics themselves if taken aside from the tune make a lot of sense.

He'll sue, and he'll win.

He is a government employee.  I am one as well for the last 23 years.  The first thing I would tell any new employee would be to keep your mouth closed when it comes to politics.  That will get you put on the unemployed line real fast.  There are many things I simply can not due and expect to keep my job and he should have known better.  That was just stupid.

Fear of retribution for excercizing your constitutional God given rights, should be fought on all levels.
I put a lot of time and effort into government service defending the constitution and I hope it was not all in vain.
I'm glad George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Ben Franklin and others had the balls to stand up and be counted when thier rights were being tested.

Hmmm.....Let's see...

Dixie Chicks took some flak for going national and criticizing the US and the Pres. and lost some private gigs, but ended up booking just as many others because of it. Since they are basically private contractors First Amendment doesn't enter into it.  I can kick a contractor out because I don't like his shoe laces or how he parts his hair. 

Guy emails maybe a few hundred people a song that criticizes the capons in Washington and gets kicked out of a government job.

I am so sick of hearing about the plight of the "poor poor Dixie Chicks". Natalie Maines was free to run her ugly pie hole and the consumers were free to stop buying their records. No one's rights were violated.

I dont see it anywhere in the First Amendment that anyone has the "right" to an audience.
