My 1st range report

I had the AR out for the first time today. My setup is

Rifle- LMT standard patrol model 16in barrel. A4 stock.
        Brownells riser
        Leupold VXII 4x12 scope

I had to set up at 50yds because of a match on the 100.  Groups of 10 shots.




Ammo #1-  American Eagle 62gr FMJ. More of a pattern than a group really. 2-4 inches. Really disappointed.

Ammo#2-  Winchester Ranger 62gr FMJ Penetrator. More of the same 2-3 inches.

Ammo#3-  Hornady 75gr BTHP Match.  About 1 !/2 in and round. Making progress.

Ammo#4-  Black Hills 69gr BTHP Match.  OMG 8 out 10 shots in !/2 in with the other 2 nearby. Hey this thing can shoot.

Ammo #5-  Black Hills 75gr BTHP Match. Not as good maybe 1in or so.

Some observations: 1, It wasn't as bad to shoot as I thought it would be, 2, the trigger pull is  terrible, 3, who ever invented  the LULA  mag loader is my hero and deserves to be a millionare.

Look into a RRA two stage trigger.   You will love it !

Is it a .223 Rem chamber or NATO? What is the twist rate?  Since it was your first time shooting it-I'm assuming a new barrel you might want to try those first two again!  It could be your barrel is just getting broke in.  Get a couple hundred rounds through it first then shoot for groups!
