20" or 24" 410
« on: September 08, 2010, 08:21:51 AM »
I cant decide between the 2, mainly due to the choke options

the 20" is a mod and the 24" is a full

My main use is for buck/slugs and maybe some #4 at coons/pests.

which choke would be the best option.

I think the mod would be just fine for rabbits/squirrels, I just dont want to light of a pattern if using 4shot at bigger game/pests.
(410 is legal at night, its why id use one)

want to order this one soon, just cant decide, like the shorter tube, its the choke im concerned about.  I asked awhile back, but that was before all the new loads came out for the judge (one of the only good things to come of that really). and I wasnt able to get one, the judge will be going to be the trade in for the new shooter LOL.

Just need last minute advise before I "pull the trigger" on the deal.

Thanks

Dave

The 20 would probably be a lot better with slugs.  I cannot stand shooting my full choke with slugs. lol  The one thing nice for full/24" is if you are going to shoot pheasant.  8)

Im sure itll take a pheasant or two, lots on our property.

Mainly want to smack coons with it, at night we can only use a .22lr which i have covered, or a 410, but wanted to make a dedicated shotgun, I like my other 410s just the way they are atm LOL.

that new handgun ammo seems to be the real deal, patterns nicely out of the o/u, IC/M ( i think), and didnt test in my full choked single yet, just hate to see a full choke be too much and muff it up, or a mod be too little.
gah, I hate making the hard choices, but im thankfull I can still afford to make em once in awhile  ;)

I teeter every fall, but this year im going for it  ;D

Thanks
