savage 24v series b

Do they have scope mounts for these? I picked a 30-30/20 gauge up for 200.00 and would like to throw a scope on it. Just not sure how to do it. It's drilled and tapped just don't know where to look for the mount for it.Thanks Jason

Yes, there is a Weaver type scope base that fits the screw pattern on the top of the receiver.  If someone doesn't give you the number first I will get mine out tomorrow and get the number off it for you.  Larry

I believe it is a 74 or 48074.  Check weaver sights link below:

I have a mod 24 in .223/12.   Only problem was the shotgun and the bullet didn't zero to the same place.  I had to go to see thru mounts so I could zero the rifle with the scope and shoot the shotgun with the open sights. Its a  bummer but it works.  Iam not a fan of the see thru mounts because they mount the scope a little higher then I like but it made the situation workable.  I hope yours is better then mine, but there is more then one way to skin a cat.  Good luck.

Have you considered a mil-dot scope? Perhaps one of the dots would be a good match for the shotgun barrel, if you centered the cross hairs for the rifle barrel.

Frankly, if I was expecting to use the shotgun barrel, I just left the scope off. I never could quite get comfortable with much scope magnification on a shotgun.

Not sure they exist for that gun, but those old style pivot mounts that allow the scope to swing over, might be useful. The ones for Marlin levers are always cheap on Ebay.

IIRC, some aftermarket company makes scope rings that fot Weaver bases & have a front sight on one ring top half  (that the user presumeably would mount in front), and an open rear sight on the other ring top half.
