Has anyone converted a disc extreme to non plastic jacket ignition? Is it worth the 42 bucks?

Not to mention, that you don't ever have to worry about buying the red plastic jackets ever again.
I don't have a disc extreme, but I do have a Vision that was convert to a non plastic jacket set up.  Never had a problem with ignition using Triple 7 or Blackhorn 209.  I would do it.  Don't know if this is the one that fits your extreme, but Gander Mtn sells it for $40.

Also, it is a better choice if you want to shoot BH209.

I recently installed the Lehigh Gen II plug (not the current one from Knight) in a DISC Extreme and it works great with BH209 and Winchester shotshell 209 primers.

Yes, it's MUCH cleaner. The channel is optimized for B209. I didn't mind the plastic discs though.
