Rynite + Limbsaver
« on: August 26, 2010, 03:31:55 PM »
I have a T/C Rynite carbine stock & it kicks hard even with my 7x30 barrel. I am getting ready to start sighting in my newly cut to 20" T/C factory 23" 375JDJ barrel. I was not looking forward to the punhishment, so I bought a limbsaver slip on pad. It matches the stock perfectly.

I shot it today with the 7x30 barrel & I guess it made about a 50% improvment in recoil. I will post how the .375jdj does after load test it.

I switched all my guns to the limbsaver pad. I do not regret it at all

They work---------------I have one on the plain Encore composite stocks and it reduces the recoil on my 209x50 and .257 Roberts significantly.
I also have a Prohunter composite stock and and waiting to shoot that Encore to see what reduction I get with both the Limbsaver and the energy burners.

UPDATE: I should have look more before asking... ::)

I just assembled an Encore 209 .50 and the factory black plastic thumbhole buttstock with 3 energyburners came with a Limbsaver pad on it. Have not shot it yet, have to pick up a breechplug and some Blackhorn209.

I don't think it will fit the contender but..........Limbsaver makes a grind to fit pad.  I put one on another rifle that didn't have a perfect replacement.  I put the butt stock on the pad and traced around the stock.  I then put the pad in my vise and ground off the excess.  Fits like a glove.

Question>>> If I want to cut off approximately 1" from an Encore Rynite buttstock in order to put on a grind to fit Limbsaver recoil pad, would it adversely affect the structural integrity of  the stock? Anyone cut off a Rynite stock?

If you want the very best recoil reducing recoil pad go with Kick-Eez pads there is nothing else like them on the market I install them on all of my heavy recoiling rifles.

I have installed 11 Kick-Eez pads on my rifles over the years and zero limbsavers all you have to do is feel them and you will see what I am talking about.
