Hi everyone,

Does anyone know if this Leupold scope mount will fit my Winchester 94AE Big Bore in .307 win?

The front base on my 307 BB has holes on each side of the reciever at about ten and two o clock, while the rear has holes on both sides of the reciever .
So if the base looks like the one in the picture , it is not going to fit .The AE throws case's to the side , but it is still an open top. I have weavers on mine.

Happy, thanks for your reply,

I found a norwegian retailer who sold those mounts. He confirmed that it fits. I think the image is just copied from Leupolds website, because all sellers have use that picture.

I have Weavers too. The thing is that I need a mount base that allows vindage adjustments.

I use Millett Angle Lok rings which have windage and use the Weaver mount. The Millett rings will not move under recoil.

I bought the weavers for mine . but the rifle was not drilled properly so the rear base is crooked on the rifle . I thought maybe the millet angle ring would solve the problem , but it is only windage ajustable . you can not turn the ring . Can not use iron sites anymore so I think I sell the gun.

Hey Happy, use the Weaver bases and get a set of Burris Signature Zee rings and a set of the offset inserts.
The inserts will allow you to adjust windage and elevation.
I have a T/C Contender barrel with a 10x Burris scope that didn't have enough adjustment to line up. I put the Burris Signature Zee rings on and with the use of the offset inserts I was able to get my scope within a couple of inches at 100 yards. This was with the scopes adjustments centered, I then had all kinds of adjustment left in my scope to get it dialed in like I wanted it.

Another plus to these rings is that there is absolutely no torque applied to the scope to get it offset. The other windage adjustable rings will bind/torque the scope tube to get it offset.

GOOD SHOOTING!

deerhunter:  the sight bases shown in the picture will not fit the 94AE.  The rear sight base needs to span the bolt and requires mounting screws on each side (left and right) of the action.  The forward or front sight base mounts as most forward scope bases mount, with mounting screws fore and aft.  I have three Winchester 94AE Big Bores and that is how they are all set up.  I won't comment on any differences due to the pressure levels of the 307 vs the 444 but I doubt that the sight bases shown will fit.

I think Weaver makes the #94 and #95 sight bases for the Big Bore AEs (could easily be wrong about the numbers) but I have used the same bases on all three of my Big Bores and while none of them look similar to the Leupolds shown they fit and function pefectly.
