Hey guys, thanks for the laughs and the good soultions. I first had jungle rot when in Nam and it wasn't from being over weight I can say for sure.

I know this is an old thread but since I didn't see this mentioned I thought I would add it.  For years I used corn starch and it worked pretty good, especially as a preventative measure but once you have the rash I have found the best and cheapest solution is just plain Crisco shortening.  It also clears up diaper rash on babies so fast you wouldn't believe it.  It beats A&D or Desitin ointments for fast working and sure costs a lot less.  I keep a Carmex jar in my night stand.  If I get a rash I put it on at bed time and in the morning it is gone.

Someone told me that the juice from a green walnut hull would kill fungus like ringworm. Maybe it does, since it takes off the hide too.
  Another fine idea was to substitute Ben Guey for Preparation H. Now I can sympathize with the proverbial turpentined cat. Although anticlimactic, Lotramin Ultra does a good job.
 But just for the experience, talk someone else into trying Ben Guey for their rash. Sure is good for sportin' entertainment, if nothing else.

Used to not be bothered by the 'heat gall' but as you get older, for some reason the 'boys' just seem to flair up in July and August.  Most of the offerings are good advice.  I'll give yall one more.  Many years ago I had a real good case of the Jock Itch, that's what you call it when you play sports.  Well, I also used to have athelete's foot.  I had some Absorbine Jr., green liquid, brewed by a witch somewhere in a dark cave, she must have been a man hater.
DO NOT PUT ABSORBINE JR ANYWHERE NEAR THE BOYS ! !  The heat is nuclear!  Now it will kill fungi and anything else that grows in dark places!  Ever see a shed snake skin ? !  Y'all get the picture ! !   :o

That stuff works good in the right places. Durned if I ever get the creapin' crud in the right places, though. It still beats walnut juice.  -I got desparate and tried it. OH! It works, but I'm just beginning to be able to ride my bike again.
 The poisin ivy on my hand took the dose much better.   Best choice: Stay in the air conditioning.
