Front sight installation
« on: October 19, 2010, 01:37:34 PM »
I just ordered a stake on front sight from Midway this afternoon.
As I pressed the button to "place order now" it came to me that I had forgotten to get a staking tool.
Is there an acceptable alternate to the official tool that I might be able to use?
Thanks.

You can stake them on with a punch if you can get the angle right
But the staking tool makes it alot easier with less chance of boogering up your finger or the gun
I always put a little JB weld on there for insurance, haven't had one shoot off yet which I can't say
about a couple factory mounted ones I've had.
