I sure dont know the OP's reasons, but I know Ive talked myself into some 'iffy' purchases over the years. Some of it was,"Ive always wanted one of those, and this is a good price", to," I think I can make that work". Ive had some work out, and, well.......you know, live and learn.
This is truely a 'buyer beware' game.

I bought a used Ruger .45 single action a couple of years ago. Didn't inspect it close enough, the front sight was filed down and I couldn't get it to shoot high enough for me. My fault for not seeing the problem before I bought it. The gun was also leaded up pretty good. The previous owner must have been shooting reloads at cowboy shoots or something. I contacted Ruger and sent it to Newport NH. They put on a new front sight, re blued the barrel, cleaned the gun up and spruced it up. What a shooter!!! They didn't charge me a thing and shipped it back for free. I'll buy a used or new Ruger any day.

I never buy new guns since they're so inexpensive used but I will never turn down a used Ruger, if it's what i'm looking for. I've never had to dump one due to a bad decision either. For the money, they're the best firearm out there.
