Gunshow Jewel 157 in 22 Hornet
« on: September 19, 2010, 12:59:43 PM »
Went to a 100 table show yesterday and found this near mint 157 in 22 Hornet. It has a 10X scope imported by Kassnar not a a half bad scope. The case colors are just beautiful. They were asking 325 I ended up getting it for 285. I have wanted one of these for a long time, but this is one of the first ones I have seen for a while,at least this nice.
There were quit a few other Handi rifles and barrels this time, just nothing I needed at the time.

I've had one for a couple years - excellent condition, with a 3-9x32 variable scope.  Mine just loves the Hornady 32 gr V.Max with the polymer tips.

Beautiful gun.  Now I am getting the gun show urge.  Fredster - that reloading bench sure is a whole lot better organized than mine.  I have some work to do...

Doc. yes that was the show I was at,I was there in the Spring also and did not see much I did buy a .410 barrel then for 20 bucks but it needs an extractor, may use it for my first sbutting project.

At this show I saw 4 or 5 barrels all shotgun, and about 5-7 rifles the used ones were 275 to 300 and one new in the box 22-250 with a lam thumbhole stock for 375. I am trying to pick up just the older H&R for now,I need a 157 30-30 now  :)

I got a 158 topper there last year for 185 had 10 people try to buy it before i made it to the car.sometimes you get a good buy there. i've been shopping up your way lately, well duncansville area Campbell's,Allegheny Trade,East Coast selection is alot better than here, prices a little higher its a trade-off (i like to walk out the door with it in hand) a local smith has a NIB 243 HB on his shelf for $189 he ordered it and the buyer never showed up to get it. any other caliber i would have bought long ago but i have zero interest in 243(currently having trouble with a savage 110 in 243, 13yrs worth)

I bought one just like that 22 Hornet for $250 last year.  It was wearing a Tasco 3X9X50 World class plus scope.  It shoots great with 40-50 grain bullets, over 50, not so much.  But it sure is fun.
