Things I won't do with pistols in 2004
« on: December 29, 2003, 11:56:05 AM »
In 2004 I will not do the following . (1)Convert my nice mod 16 32
mag to 32/20 (2) Shoot Elmer Keith loads in my Mod 24 (3) Shoot "the poor man's magnum " loads in my mod 25 (4) Buy another handgun just because I don't have one of that model and (5) Make max in the loading manuals as my starting load. I guess I'm just getting old !   Happy New Year early to all of you fine fellows and ladies out there and I know I have a good chance of keeping 1 thru 4 and maybe #5 . 4 out of 5 aint bad after all.

JIm:  I dunno, I think I might have a tough time with numbers 1 and 4.  I like the 32-20, and I'm always in the market for another model of something I don't have.  Well, I also don't have the scratch to go get another one, so you're right, 4 out of 5 ain't bad.  LOL.  Mikey.

In a contender that is. Not too crazy about them in a revolver. They only pick up 150 fps over the 32 mag and are ear spitters and hard to load compared to the 32mag. But believe me every one should shoot what they like after all shooting is fun most of the time .

Amen to #5!  I used to think I needed to load everything to max to have enought power.  I took a long time to learn that a 240/250 gr bullet of major caliber, at 900-950fps will do anything I wish to do with a handgun.  Actually most loads are now down around 800-850, are more pleasant to shoot, and they STILL do what I want!  44 Man

I only have one thing that I plan on not doing with my handguns in 2004. That is to let any of them sit in the safe and not get fired for the whole year.
