New 740 slim
« on: January 07, 2011, 01:25:25 PM »
Went and picked up my new PT740SS today from my LSG $388/OTD.I like it to say the least, havnt been to the range yet but It will happen Monday morning. The only thing I dont like about it is the magazine release button is pretty small and the spring is extremely tight so the mag release is very stiff, this should be a little hand cannon so that might be a good thing, also one of the mags that came with it has a small indent,It looks like someone hit it with a punch or someting about a half inch below the feed lips on the outside of the magazine body.Other than that Im pleased.Range report to follow come Monday night

It has shot well Ive put about 400rds through it now, just got my crimson trace grips for it,It has a bit of recoil to it and would not be something to shoot all day but you can carry all day comfortably, seems to group well Ive had 3 malf all were failure to feed but the slide was just hanging up about a 1/2 inch out of battery, just a push set the slide and it went boom once again, think it still had some packing grease in it that needed cleaned, another report after I make it to the range again

I have the all blue version of the PT 740 slim.  I LOVE IT !!  Feeds everything !  NO malfunctions in over 1000 rounds fired.  2 inch grouping at 50 ft.  I DID buy a magazine loader for it from day one.  Had a really hard time getting the sixth round into the mag.
But with the loader it's easy as pie.  VERY Happy with it !
