Michigan Deer Hunting
« on: November 11, 2010, 04:08:20 AM »
Well, that magical time of the year is here again - Deer Hunting, that is.  I am nearly packed.  I still have to handload a few rounds for my Contender .30-30 Super 14, pick up some groceries and a bottle of good Rye, eat my free meal at Applebee's, and I'm good to go.  Our season starts the 15th but I am heading up to camp tomorrow.  The weather has been unseasonably warm but it is supposed to get colder by the opener.  I will be using my 14" .30-30 and .45 Colt with a 10" octagon barrels this year.  What can I say, I love the oldies.  I'm also taking my Model 99 Savage in .300 Savage and the .62 caliber smoothbore flintlock I built last year.  I did mention that I liked the oldies, right?  Move over wolves, there will be another predator in the woods next week.  BTW, Happy Veterans Day.

Mike
