Well I decided to take a compound out for this hunt, as the deer just seemed to be that much farther away than I like for using my recurve for. In the video the deer you see, as I found out were at 47 paces from me. I had used my 40 yard floater pin, and should have aimed just a bit higher.

After this shot, I moved my blind and left for about 2 hours, walking the rest of the property. And wouldn't you know it, when I returned there was a nice doe not 30 yards from the blind. I couldn't get to the blind without spooking the deer, so I just let it walk off.
After getting back into the blind, I sat there about 2 hours. The weather here is getting on the very cool side, and caused my legs to cramp up. So, I called it a day, and moved everything to my truck. I looked back, and here were 3 whitetails headed right for my blind area. I couldn't get the sneak on them because of the ground cover of fallen twigs etc, so I watched and hoped they would use a trail that headed down my way. As luck works in either direction, so did the deer. They headed off down a trail the other side of my new blind location.
Well, I will let the blind sit for a few days, and return for a great day in the woods.
