My 12 year old daughter took her first deer

My 12 year old daughter took her first deer this past Saturday (September 25, 2010) during Michigan's 2 days youth hunt. She used a Thompson Center Encore rifle in 223 Remington which I hand loaded 60 grain Nosler Partitions with H4895.  Her shot was 75 yards broadside and took out both lungs and broke rib bones when it exited. The hunt was on private land in Upper Michigan.

I'm green with envy. my daughter loves to shoot (thank goodness) but she just can't bring herself to shoot a deer.  my brother had a place all set for her in Illinois but she backed out.

THATS GREAT MY 11YEAR OLD SON AND ME GO NEXT WEEK ON HIS FIRST DEER HUNT
