Can not find paper!
« on: January 07, 2003, 11:07:11 PM »
Hi
I can not find any thing that resembles"9lb Onionskin paper" here in the land of Oz(Australia),What the hell is it!
Would any body know what i could use, that i could get here,I've tried different paper companys and they don't know or just don't get back to me,so I presume they don't care,it very annoying  I could be on to some paper with 25% cotton fibre in it,but am waiting to hear back from them,it just annoying having to wait for them to get back to you at their leisure.
A friend of mine said "Why not try Masking tape",so I made a few up with them, they do look good!,but have not tried them yet will tomorrow when i get time, has any body else tried masking tape?
Any way I 'll say goodbye for now, will post you my results later
see ya

Not sure how the masking tape would work out.  Paper leaves the bullet when it leaves the barrel.  I'd think anything left on the bullet would have a negative influence on bullet flight.  Try it though and let us know.  One thing I have learned about this obseeesion is there isn't magic to it and there is more than one way to make it work.

Try airmail paper or go to a drawing/drafting/office supply and get tracing paper. What are you patching for, cartridge & black or smokeless powder?

Yep your right they did 'nt go to good, the first 5 rounds where spot on,but after those 5 they went all over the place
I was using 230 gr.452 pistol bullet with the masking tape
The charge was 15.0gr Unique& large pistol primer.
I did'nt think they would perform to good
I think I'll wait until I get a Paper Patch Mould,ah well worth a try, made me go out shooting so that's not to bad

See ya
