anyone have a 264 hawkeye?

buddy has a new in the box one and i was just wondering how they shot before i plunk down the cash. Ive been stung by to many ruger bolts and hate to buy another lemon.

Lloyd:  I've got a Hawkeye in .204 Ruger that'll shoot dime groups easily and just picked up one in 6.5 Creedmoor that seems to want to do the same.  Both rifles have probably the best M-77 triggers I've used, except maybe for my M-77VT.  I've only put 6 rounds through the 6.5 so far, to dial in the bore-sighting.  Below are shots 4, 5 and 6 out the window of my deer blind:

I they had 26" barrels I would have certainly tried one. One of the main guys on another forum tried one & the vel. was not impressive at all which was predictable.

The .204 does have a 24" tube, but the 6.5 IS indeed 26" long.  I haven't looked at the catalog specs, but I reckon that available barrel length varies by caliber, which is typical of Ruger.

Yes, I was in reference to the 264 Mag not having a 26", not your Creedmore. putting a 26" on a Creedmore but a 24" on the much larger capacity 264Mag is one of those things that would make you pull youtr hair out, except I am used to that stuff.
