long range shoting

hello members
 I you are shooting 1/2" groups @100 yards is it right to figure your group will be double that 1" @ 200 yards and double at every 100 yards  Thanks guys :)

Minus wind effect on bullet  1 inch at 100 = 2 inch at 200 3 inch at 300 and so on
I dont care what gun Im using as long as Im hunting

it will sometimes work out that way but not allways. Differnt bullets have differnt stability characteristics and even some guns will do weard things. Ive got a buddy with a 270 weatherby mag model 70 win that will shoot 3/4s of an inch at a 100 but at 200 hes looking at 4 inch and at 300 he cant even keep them on target reliably and thats with may different bullet powder combos. They only real way to find out is to actually shoot them at those ranges.
