For those interested...Starline .38-55 brass
« on: October 06, 2010, 02:28:53 AM »
I noticed today that Starline is again listing both lengths of .38-55 brass as "available".
What I've used of it before has been excellent brass.

I told my pap and mam I was going to be a mountain man; acted like they was gut-shot. "Make your life go here, son. Here's where the people is. Them mountains is for Indians and wild men." "Mother Gue", I says "the Rocky Mountains is the marrow of the world," and by God, I was right. Keep your nose in the wind and your eye along the skyline

There is a fantastic review of this stuff (and other  38-55 brass) at Marlin Owners. The reviewers seemed to indicate that they bought it all. Anyway, the 38-55 seems like a fairly complex round to sort out initially just due to how manufacturers have interpreted the specs differently over the years.

I went to Midway, and they didn't list the .38-55 brass as I thought they would to compare price with Starline.  What I did find was .445 brass......still on backorder, but coming.  I bought a hundred of those......I don't need them now, but I will, so the backorder is fine.
