Cancer Survivor............
« on: October 13, 2010, 04:24:21 AM »
Last week I had a PET scan, the results came back very good, my cancer has now shrunk to a scar about the size of your thumb nail, the doctor says it is in remission and this one should present no further problem. I want to thank everyone for the knee mail, I’m sure the support and prayers from friends and family contributed to our success in curing this.

When told I had stage 3-B cancer of the left lung back in December I truly thought my days were numbered.  At this point I can see some hope for the future. I suffered damage to the good lung as a result of the 47 radiation treatments, but hopefully we can get that under control.  I was on oxygen 24/7 for about six weeks but have managed to get off if I don’t get over heated.  The extensive Chemo and radiation have also left a problem of weakness, low blood count, and no energy.  I go in tomorrow to determine if a bone marrow biopsy is necessary to determine the cause, I’m not looking forward to that.

I have been fighting VA for years about skin cancers and other related problems, they would never admit that the cause could be related to my exposure to Agent Orange in Viet Nam, however, after this they seem to think I “MIGHT” have a case, and it could be the cause for my cancer.

Didn’t make that bear hunt this year, but things are looking up for next year…………

ROCKBILLY. Wonderful news friend. It's always good to hear of prayers answered in a big way. Mom was supposed to have died over 2 years ago, she's looking great at 85, cancer hasn't moved in well over a year. You have it made. Give God the praise he deserves. Charlie.  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Great news that your cancer is in remission.  We will continue to pray that the other health issues are resolved soon.  Also, best of luck with the VA.  I think it is criminal the way our Government treats our vet's.
