Home schooling is the answer. There are a number of cultures that were here before IMO. I have never seen a historical proof, theory, hypothesis, argument for it being muslims. Wasn't saladin a bit too busy with conquest to be interested in "yachting"?

Sorry, this land was already inhabited at the time of first contact therefore it could not be "discovered" by anyone least of all by members of a murderous cult.

Discovered by Europeans that is. There is evidence that the Vikings got an earlier look then Columbus but their northern location wasn't kind to survival.

From what I have read and studied, the Vikings moved out of their colonies where living conditions were too harsh.  They moved south and assimalated with Native Cultures.  Hence the reports of Blue Eyed Natives by the Dutch and English colonist.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

Yeah, the is essentially hard evidence that the vikings made it over circa 1000AD.

There was a very good documentary on concerning this subject a while back.  Several cultures were reported to have possibly made it over here pre-Columbus. The Chinese, Japanese, the Irish, etc.  The Polynesians in particular looked quite likely to have made it to parts of the western coast as some of the canoes used by the western tribes were very close to Polynesian canoes in design, and the tribes referred to them by a term that was quite close to the Polynesian word for canoe (not to mention it's quite obvious that they made it at LEAST as far as Hawaii, having been the group to settle that island).

In reality, I think the truth is that a number of different groups made it over here at various times throughout history.

How is it that one can claim discovery of a place that was already inhabited by other folks?
The argument of who was here first or discovered this land is a fight for trivial status. I say it makes no difference who was here or discovered this place first.
The only group that matters is the one that can keep it.

If the words "discovery" cause great pain, just change it to "visited prior to Columbus".  The simple thing is that History is worth examining.  Yes, the Native Americans via an ice bridge between Russia and Alaska were almost certainly the first ones to make it over here (circa 20,000 years ago).  There is SOME evidence that some Europeans made it over close to the same time and the two cultures merged to form the native tribes.

That said, it in no way diminishes the historical significance of other cultures making it over here throughout the ages.  No they didn't "discover" it, but it's most certainly still noteworthy.

The documentary is "Who Really Discovered America"? It was aired on History channel the other night again. A well thought out program that should be watched for IMO.

At this stage, perhaps the question of how we all got here is less important than how we ALL intend to keep it. Instead of the "Indian", the "White Man" and the "Black Man" bickering and fighting each other we'd best learn to fight side by side or we all lose.

Something the Native Americans as a group realized to late when the Europeans showed up and let the first bunch alive to return and spread the word. ;).
