I have to share what an awesome place the firearms community here is...

Follow this link to a great guy that donated a Contender butt stock to my 3 1/2 year old son so I could shorten it to fit my guy...

Thank you again SlowLeadBullets/Rob we cannot thank you enough...

Sounds like 3 super fella's to me.

Camp cook....great story and pic's.

SlowLeadBullet....very generous of you to donate a stock.  Looks like you made a young man very happy!

Jaiden....remember.  You have to have the sights lined up and on your target to make a good shot.  Be safe and enjoy your shooting with  your dad.

After 6 days of mostly rain we came back home a few days early got tired of fighting the rain...

Here is a picture of Jaiden with the first grouse that we shot no he can't aim the gun good enough yet so I shot the rough grouse actually shot 20 blues and ruff grouse while we were out.

and he worked hard at spotting deer he even spotted some before I did.

Here is a pic of him talking to his mom on the cell phone yes he is and will admit he is a mommies boy...    ;D

Jaiden is loving his Contender here are a few more pics of him with it...

I have a tripod that I am going to start setting up for him to stand and shoot off of just put the fore end onto the U bracket that I attached to it and aim, I use it now when I am in my ground blind or walking fields for gophers/coyotes.

The lady is my wife/his mom she is holding my Robinson Arms XCR-L in 6.8spc this was the first time she ever shot it and she did very well I'm now thinking of setting it up as her camp gun.

Here is a pic of my 2 sons and me this was the first time Jaiden had been on a successful deer hunt yes they are only 2 point mule deer bucks but that is ok the last three 4 points I have shot were almost inedible so we are very content to score these smaller deer.

Jaiden wants to be one of the guys so he has to have his Contender with him everywhere we go...    ;D

Did you shot one of the bucks with your 6.8?

I am thinking about using my Rock river 6.8 Car for Blacktail deer season opener next weekend. Mine shoots Silver State 110gn  pro-hunter factory loads under MOA.

I was about Jaiden's size when my Dad started taking me with him on Hunting trips almost 50 years ago. Brings back great memories of time spent with him. Please continue sharing his progress.

Yes I shot the one that I am holding the antler of.

Shot was 166 yards load was a 95gr Barnes TTSX @ 2825fps hit the deer as it was facing slightly angled towards me in the chest just in front of the left leg it did not hit bone continued thru the lungs hitting an off side rib bone then exited just behind the right leg/shoulder so was not able to recover the bullet... deer dropped on the spot.
