I shoot a TC Contender in 30/40 Krag. It shoots 173 grain, .310 diameter gas check bullets very well when driven by a 18.5 grain load of 2400.

Owing to pricing, I recently bought 1000 Lasercast, 173 grain, .310 bullets. The bullets have a gas check location but no gas check.
The question I have is, is there any way to install gas checks without a sizer? I don't know anything about making cast bullets, just shooting them.

I would appreciate some help. Thanks.

I agree. If those .30 bullet have the gas check step on the base, they should already have gas checks.

The quick and dirty way to install gas checks on your cast bullets is to get or borrow a Lee bullet sizing hand die and punch, or a Lyman 310 tong toll and bullet sizing caity.

You can easily install gas checks and size your bullets using either one.

I'm guessing you have a reloading press buy the statement of what charge you are using?
