I know this is a slow time of the year for wild edibles. With spring just around the corner what is the first musroom that pops up in your area. I believe Morels are the first in S.W. Pennsylvania, but I may be wrong.

So let us hear what will you be targeting first?

also look  along the road and near were old home steads use to be for asparagus

Morels are on my hit list, in North Idaho they usually start coming out the beginning of April and can be found until the end of May.  It makes for great family outings, who can spot the first one of the day, find the biggest, or the most.  We have a great time and get a lot of great eatin mushrooms too.
