......as I have said before, I have no problem with controlling wolf populations with legal hunting seasons, and I have no problem with the killing of nuisance wolves. But IMHO, anyone who can gut shoot any animal and brag about it is a dirtball.....period. Ain't none of God's creatures here on earth that deserves that(except maybe for pedophiles). Folks that violate game laws, condone others that violate game laws and brag about it, are not hunters or sportsmen, but just plain ol' everyday violators. Shootin' a wolf to protect yourself, loved ones or domestic livestock is one thing, but to shoot a wolf out of frustration because you are not a good enough hunter to get a deer legally, says a lot about ones character......and the type of hunter you are. Just like whinnin' and blamin' the DNR because the wolves are here. Anyone with any lick of knowledge of the history of the wolf in Wisconsin KNOWS the DNR did not re-establish the wolf population here, that the wolf itself migrated here from Minnesota and Michigan. The reason we cannot control the wolf population here has nuttin to do with the Wisconsin DNR, but with the Feds and the endangered species status. You want the authorities to turn their heads the other way when someone shoots a wolf illegally, than you must also want them to ignore the situation when some dirtball trespasses on your property, and shoots a deer and lets it lay. Regardless of what you believe, there is no difference. Law enforcement people don't MAKE the laws, they ENFORCE them. Sometimes like us, they don't agree with the laws, but their JOB is still to enforce them. For them to only enforce the laws they agree with and for us to follow only the laws we agree with is not how our system works. The way to change the law is not by violating it or the endorsement of others that violate it. The way to change the law is to change those that make the laws.
