whoat do you think the 7.62 x 25 or 30 mauser and necking it down to a 22 cal bullet and loading it in a auto handgun. I know the 30 mauser is a a good penatrator i think necking it down tom 22 with a good 55 gr FMJ bullet would be even better?

there was discussion and an article on taking the Tokarov pistol and using 308 sabots with 224 bullet and getting pretty impressive results, functioning and good accuracy...can't remember what mag i saw it in though..wish i had the article...makes me want to pick up a 125.00 CZ, which is pretty strong due to the locking system...and trying it..
what ya think...it would work...and you wouldn't need any forming dies...poor mans wildcat...

Hmmm, that would be an interesting idea. You could even hack off a .221 fireball die and use that to make brass. I like the sabot idea too, you could use it in an existing CZ52 pistol. That would be a good use for all those 40gr. Jet bullets I have lying around here...

40 gr Jet bullets...

I have a few old boxes of those too.  They are absolutely the best thing I have tried in sabots.  The longer bullets stick out of the end of the sabot too far and are unsupported in the bore, so they come out spinning out of control and keyhole within 25 yds.  The 35 gr ballistic .223's work pretty good too.
....make it count

What powder and how many grs are you using. Sounds like  something to try with 37-45 gr cast bullets.  Thanks,  Mark
