I have a Sako .308 that always shot moa.  The other day I decided to lighten the trigger a smidge so I pulled the action, adjusted the screw that determines the trigger pull and put it back together.  I also put on a Bushnell 4200, but put it in the rings that were already on the rifle (had a Bushnell 3200 on it previously).  Anyway, today I go out with 6 different loads to test (including a load that shot moa previously so I could site it in) and after my 4th shot I got a downward vertical stringing.  This went from aprox 4 inches high down to the bullseye.  About 1" per shot.  This Sako does not have a free floated barrel.  What did I screw up?????

My guess is you applied a different amount of torque on the action screws. If there are three screws you might try backing off the middle screw a small amount (just enough to hold the trigger guard).

You may also be having scope problems..  although the 4200 is an excellant scope.  Is everything tight?  Be certain the magazine isn't hard against the action.  You never mentioned anytghing which would have impacted the grouping of your rifle.  I my experience vertical stringing is many times a scope problem..

This rifle has only 2 screws that hold the action to the stock.  AFter shooting about 6 rounds @ 100yds it quit stringing, but of course that makes one wonder if the rifle/scope can be trusted. I had gotten the scope for Christmas and it was a demo thru SWFA.  But as I think about it, the vertical stringing did not start until after the 1st 5 shots. I started sighting in @ 25yds and my 4th and 5th shots were right on. Then shots 6-10 did the downward stringing @ 100yds. Then it seemed to stop. The temp was in the mid-20's so the barrel never heated up.  Could it be the rifle "settling in after being taken apart?  Or maybe the scope adjusting because as a demo I am sure the adjustment knobs were turned etc...And on this scope the knobs have to be tapped before adjusting or the crosshairs dont adjust.  I guess when I load up some more "proven" rounds and shoot again I will find out.
