We're gettin' ready to head out back and get some red squirrels... he's takin' my .410 and I'm usin' the versa 22.

That's great, that's what it's all about. I want to take my son out for the same thing soon. He needs a little more practice with the .22 but he'll be ready soon. He has a Versa Pack also. You have the right idea, I'd take hunting for red squirrels with my kids over deer hunting alone any day.

The boy did great!! He got 2 reds and a chipmunk.

Now he wants to confiscate my 410... hehehehehehe. I love it.
I couldn't ask for a better day in the woods. Perfect... just perfect.

Where could one find the versa-pack rifle to buy? I have grandsons wanting to squirrell hunt and that set-up would be perfect.

Can you buy just a 22lr barrell for a handi rifle? I have one in .270, and the .357. A 22lr would be nice.

No, SB1 and SB2 centerfire frames only work with centerfire barrels, the VP barrel has an offset bore to work on a centerfire frame, rimfire barrels only work on SS1 rimfire frames that have an offset firing pin.

It's a shame H&R doesn't produce them again. Then they can compete with the "R" guys for the youth market on combo's more effectively. 8(

gyoung65 Call a Gander Mtn and have them check there store inventory, I still see them occasionally for $129. The Gander in Woodbury, MN might still have 1 left. They can send it to Gander neaerby you.
