happy as a porker in the slop.
Got the Handi (45-70) slinging a. a 405 gr Rem with 27 gr of 2400 shooting within 1 inch of b. a 450 gr Cast bullet with 25 gr of 2400 at 100 yards.

 Last week I fired this rifle at a 100 yard target with a mix of cast and jacketed bullets from 300 gr to 500 grain and different powders at a target. The biggest spread between impact was a little bit over 3 inch. A guy has got to be happy with that !!

BTW I got tired of that infamous squeeze and click because I didn't "yard" on the trigger. The transfer bar is gone. There is a half cock feature now which isn't as positive as some, but I know the rifle and can deal with it just fine and do not plan on sellling it.

I have yet to find someone that was not perfectly happy with their 45-70 Handi. I have only loaded ammo with Trail Boss powder, but I do have some 2400 that remains unused. Maybe not for long... ;)

BTW, I have some 510gr Postells to load soon, how much 2400 should I start with?

The hammer mod is in the FAQs, see low profile hammer mods 2, been there, done that.  ;)
