3rd Weekend Report
« on: October 18, 2010, 03:19:51 AM »
Well it wasn't much better than the first week. I did butt shoot a tree rat and he was POed, but I bet he won't be coming to eat corn for a while. Got pictures of a good buck showing up at the one stand in the wee hours of the morning. Then this buck and I met in the trail as I was going over to check the camera. That split second of indecision on his spread cost me. If I'd just drawn and shot it might have been a different story, but he bolted before I got to full draw. Here is the video that includes the butt shot and game came pictures of the big buck.

Derek, your season is going like mine did.  Well our archery only season is over, and the deer won as far as bowhunting is concerned for me this year.  Our temps have gotten to where bulky clothing is going to take over in a serious way, with our general season opening up this next Saturday.  No big game hunting all week, as our FWP has saw fit to give the animals a weeks break from hunters trashing up the woods.

I still had a great time of it.

Good luck, if you can get back out there with the bow.

I won't be able to get back up this coming weekend, but may do a little hog control in a local neighborhood.  I'll head up for the last weekend 29th-31st and may hunt the first week of General with a bow also.  We will see how things pan out.

Good luck when you get back out in the woods.
