The new Winchester 1895 rifle seems to be fine and to have a good reputation, but is there a safe methode to get rid of the rebounding hammer and the tang safety? I would prefer the old style halfcock hammer, and have read about alteration of the mod 92 and 94. But the trigger and hammer mechanism look different on the 1895, and perhaps the 92/94 solutions are not applicable.
